Collection: Cecília Vilas Boas
Cecília Vilas Boas is a Lisbon-based plastic artist with a diverse body of work spanning painting and writing. She has formal training from the Nextart School of Arts, where she completed a three-year painting course, and further specialized in watercolor at the Parque das Nações Painting Academy.
Cecília works with oil, acrylic, and watercolor on paper and canvas, utilizing a variety of tools depending on the technique. Alongside her artistic practice, she is also an arts educator, teaching painting, drawing, and creative writing to both children and adults. She frequently hosts workshops and gatherings in schools, fostering creativity in both students and teachers.
Her artistic career includes numerous solo and group exhibitions across Lisbon, with recent displays at the Quinta das Conchas and Zénite Bar galleries, as well as upcoming shows at City Art Gallery in 2024. Cecília’s notable works include the solo exhibitions “Veils of Perception” and “The Beauty of Simplicity,” and group exhibitions like “Between Wings and Imaginary” and “Echoes of Silence.”
In addition to her visual art, Cecília has published seven books blending poetry and poetic prose with photography and painting. Her first book, *Âmbar e Mel*, was released in 2011, followed by other works that explore profound emotional and philosophical themes. She continues to contribute to literary anthologies and collaborative projects, expanding her creative reach into various forms of artistic expression.
