Collection: Filomena Parra
Filomena Parra (born Filomena Neto Parra, 1959) is a Portuguese artist based in Malveira, Mafra.
She trained in Textile Arts, Drawing, and Composition at Escola António Arroio (Lisbon) and holds a degree in Pedagogical Supervision and Trainer Training from ISCE (Odivelas). She taught Arts and Technologies in public education from 1980 to 2025.
Her artistic practice, influenced by collaboration with artist David de Almeida, includes printmaking, lampwork, fusing, origami, tapestry, weaving, ceramics, and screen printing.
She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including Artshow (FIL, Portugal), Caldas da Rainha (Portugal), Carrousel du Louvre (France, 2021), World Art Dubai (2022), The Color of Summer (Germany, 2022), and FIABCN (Barcelona, 2022). Her work is part of the Câmara Municipal de Mafra collection. She received a Silver Honorable Mention at the 1st Estoril International Art Salon.
Filomena has published two poetry books, A Surpresa é uma Constante and Trovas do Novo Mundo, and her works are featured in Próspero – International Art Book (Insat).
