Collection: Sabrina Carreira
Born in Leiria and currently based in Lisbon, Sabrina Carreira holds a degree in Sculpture and is now pursuing a Painting degree at the Fine-Arts School of Lisbon.
Her eclectic practice spans painting, sculpture, and printmaking, reflecting a balance of traditional techniques and creative experimentation. Working with oil, pastel, watercolor, acrylic, collage, and serigraphy, Sabrina explores a wide thematic range—from whimsical narratives in pieces like “In Wonderland” (2024) and “Floresta Encantada” (2024) to tributes to Portuguese heritage in “Invocação às Tágides” (2024). She also draws inspiration from Lisbon’s urban scenery, capturing iconic locations—Rossio, Terreiro do Paço, and Adamastor—through on-site sketches that embody a sense of immediacy.
Her background in sculpture informs her attention to form and texture, especially evident in her mixed-media works such as the collage “Marilyn” (2019), made with bottle caps and newspaper. Additionally, Sabrina’s printmaking—including detailed serigraphy and verniz mole etching—demonstrates her command of diverse processes.
Throughout her portfolio, she portrays personal reflections, cultural symbols, and even notable public figures, weaving together vibrant color, meticulous detail, and storytelling. By bridging playful scenes with profound themes, Sabrina Carreira offers a visual world that encourages viewers to witness both the ordinary and the extraordinary anew.
