My name is Carla Amaro, and my passion for creativity has been the compass guiding my entire life. Currently, I am immersed in the world of arts as a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, an tireless explorer of various forms of artistic expression. I was born in Silves, in the Algarve, but I live and work in Lisbon.
I hold a degree in Industrial Design from IADE and in Contemporary Jewelry from Contacto Direto. For approximately 15 years, I ran a shop/studio in Príncipe Real, where I practiced my art as a jeweler and fashion accessories creator, enjoying artistic independence.
Since childhood, I have been fortunate to have contact with many traditional crafts, such as sewing, embroidery, and knitting. All these skills have been useful throughout my journey as an artist, applying them in various works and shaping my creative approach.
My incessant curiosity for diverse techniques and materials led me to venture into ceramics, initially at the Lisbon Artisans Association and later in Cécile Mestelan's studio. At every opportunity, I seized the chance to expand my horizons, seeking inspiration in the nature I love so much.
Currently, I have rediscovered an old passion: painting. It has become a regular practice, exploring various media, with watercolor being my favorite. My work is an experimental and diverse symphony, where my true passion is reflected in the exploration of materials, revealing combinations and often surprising results.
My constant pursuit of knowledge and artistic development led me to participate in online workshops with various visual artists, complementing my initial training. I now devote most of my time to painting, delving into watercolors and mixed techniques, in a more abstract approach, an artistic expression inspired by nature, my eternal muse.
As an artist, I hope my art brings you good energy and inspires positivity. May it be a source of creativity for you, contributing to a new contemplative approach to appreciating nature. May each piece be an invitation to explore the world with renewed eyes, celebrating the simple beauty that surrounds us.
Thank you for allowing my art to be part of your spaces.
