Angie Hickson is an English artist who relocated from The Netherlands to Portugal in 2020. With a background in fine art and textile design, she graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University.
Angie produced designs for fashion houses in the United States before establishing textile design company Isana Design. In 2008 Angie won the NESTA Young Person's Business Award.
Since moving to Portugal Angie has been inspired by the coastline and vibrancy of colour in the country and has translated that into her works. Angie's latest focus is on restoring used surfboards into pieces of art.
With more than 20 years of experience as a professional artist, Angie's paintings have been exhibited in galleries and sold to private collectors in the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.
Angie loves to share her passion of painting with others and established Portugal Art Classes in 2021, hosting art classes and art events in Cascais, Portugal. The events bring people together, creating unique art.
