A split view of sky and sea: above the waterline, a glowing sunset of peach, gold and soft violet clouds sends rays of light across the horizon. Below the surface, sunbeams plunge into a deep teal world of rolling waves and misty underwater forms, framed by fiery orange rocks on either side.
The contrast between warm light and cool depth gives the painting a sense of transformation, as if light itself were being turned into water. Alchemy is an atmospheric, contemplative work for lovers of the ocean.
Details: Angie Hickson · 2022 · Acrylic on canvas · 70x50 cm
